Four days in Skalskoven, up to 20,000 people on site every day, and new records on every single festival day. Nibe Festival 2026 was the 40th edition of the festival, and the anniversary became one of the strongest editions ever. Not only on the bottom line, but also in the music, the atmosphere and the sense of community between guests and volunteers.
More than 100 concerts across six stages
The music programme at
Nibe Festival 2026 featured more than 100 concerts across six stages, and the vast majority were well attended. Those are the kind of numbers that show the breadth works. There was room for the big names in front of the main stage, and room for the smaller gigs where the crowd stands close together and discovers something new.
The weather changed along the way, but it didn’t affect the running of the festival. The festival was carried out in harmony from the first to the last concert, and guests stayed on, whether the sun or the rain took over. It says something about the festival experience Nibe has built over four decades.
Records all four days
All four festival days set new turnover records. Wednesday became the first day in the festival’s history with turnover of more than DKK 10 million, and on Saturday it peaked with a new daily record of just over DKK 11 million.
Overall, turnover in the festival’s bars and stalls passed DKK 40 million, while total festival turnover is expected to exceed DKK 70 million. Behind the figures is an audience that showed up, stayed on site and used the festival as it’s intended.
A festival North Jutland stands together behind
Nibe Festival is run by people. More than 5,000 volunteers and ten employees helped deliver the 40th edition, and it’s that setup that makes a festival of this size in North Jutland possible. Volunteers in the bars, at the entrances, on the stages, in the food stalls and all the places guests never notice because everything just works.
The audience was diverse. Families with children, groups of friends, people who have been coming for decades, and first-time guests who have only just discovered what Skalskoven can do. That’s a big part of the explanation for why Nibe means so much as a festival in Denmark.
Safety on site
A good festival experience requires that you can relax. With up to 20,000 people on site daily, 67 wristbands were cut off and 27 warning wristbands were handed out, and two assaults were reported, while nine people were charged under the Danish Act on Euphoriant Substances.
Compared to the number of guests, those are small figures, and they confirm the impression many go home with: Nibe is a music festival where the tone on site is good, and where people who need it are looked after.

The focus is on what’s next. Nibe Festival 2027 will take place from 30 June to 3 July 2027, and ticket sales for full festival passes start on Wednesday 2 September 2026 at 10:00.
